Up to $16,000 in Mass Save rebates for heat pump installation

Mass Save offers significant income-based incentives for heat pumps, with rebates reaching up to $16,000 for air-source heat pump systems, tailored to eligible Massachusetts residents.

These enhanced incentives, designed for moderate-income households, can cover substantial installation costs for qualified high-performance heat pump equipment. These are often paired with 0% interest financing through the Mass Save HEAT Loan program.

Rebates for propane and heating oil equipment

If you are installing new propane or heating-oil-powered home comfort equipment, you may qualify for state rebates through the following organizations:

• Massachusetts residents looking to upgrade their heating oil equipment have received hundreds of dollars in rebates through the Massachusetts Energy Marketers Association. Eligible Massachusetts homeowners were able to receive up to $500 in rebates when they installed high-efficiency heating oil equipment in their homes. (Work completed before May 18, 2026 will not be eligible for a rebate).

  $250 for a new heating oil storage tank
  $250 for an oil-fired furnace or boiler that is higher efficiency than the existing system
  $500 for a combined heating oil storage tank and furnace or boiler

• Talk to us about the generous rebates you can receive (often as high as $500) for installing new propane-powered home comfort equipment. These incentives are available through the Propane Gas Association of New England’s (PGANE) Safe Appliance Rebate Program.
